    Hello Awesome Supporters!
Spring is here! YAY! I think the April Showers started a bit early this year, but I am looking forward to all of the beautiful May flowers that will be a result of it.
I have quite a few updates, so let's jump right in:

    STAFF CHANGES
As some of you may have heard, our Construction Manager, Josh, has decided to resign from his position. Although we are sad to see him go, we wish him nothing but the best !! But, when one door closes another one opens ... We are very excited to announce that our new Construction Manager, Ben, will be starting on April 24. Please join us in welcoming him. We can't wait to see what the future holds for our affiliate!

Project #72 for the Powe family is well underway. This build is our 2nd Apostle Build, which means a large portion of the project is being funded by local churches who have generously partnered with us to provide funding, volunteers, meals, prayers, and support to the family. We currently have eight churches on board and would love to get four more involved to have a full twelve Apostle churches. “Many hands make light work.” If you are interested in becoming more involved with this build, please contact me.

    WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Volunteers are needed !! We have volunteer opportunities at both our Construction Site and ReStore, and we are looking for skilled and unskilled volunteers to join our amazing group of Loyal Volunteers. Please contact me if you are interested in serving at either location.

Our ReStore plays such a critical role in our success. Not only does it keep items from going into landfills, it also helps build homes. When you are spring cleaning, please consider donating your unwanted furniture, home goods, appliances, building materials, hardware, tools, knickknacks, dishes, and more to our ReStore. You may either drop off your donation (1510 S Water Street, Kent) Tuesday through Saturday from 10AM to 3PM or schedule a free pickup. All donations are tax deductible to the extent allowable by law.

Our Recycle Extravaganza is scheduled for Wednesday, May 17, from 5-8PM at our Kent ReStore. This is one of Portage County’s biggest recycling events. We will have drop-off points for our everyday ReStore donations, paper shredding, Latex paint, electronics, soft plastic (grocery bags, plastic wrapping, cereal bags, etc.), glasses, clothing, shoes, American flags, and a donation table for the Dog Warden and Portage APL. We will also have a kid’s craft area, basket raffles, 50/50 raffle, and silent auction items. Plus, there is a 25% off coupon on the event flyer, which can only be used that evening. You won’t want to miss this! If you are / your company is interested in setting up a table or sponsoring the event, please contact me.
... for more information -- including a link to the event flyer.

This year's Women Build will be Wednesday, May 10 through Saturday, May 13. We have availability on the 10th and 11th for groups. Please contact me if you are / your group is interested in participating.

Thank you all for all you do to provide safe, decent, and affordable housing within our community. We appreciate each and every one of you more than you know!
